Access Statement For Apartment 2, The Pinnacles
Introduction
The Pinnacles consists of 2 holiday Apartments positioned right on the Swanage sea front. The golden sandy beach which is adjacent to the Apartments is a
minute's walk away. All amenities such as shops, library, tourist information etc., are within easy walking distance.
Pre-Arrival
Bookings and enquiries can be made directly from the website, by e-mail, by telephone or by letter.
All guests are provided with a map and directions to the Pinnacles.
Both the bus terminus and taxi rank are at Swanage railway station which is 0.25miles away.
The nearest mainline train station is at Wareham which is 10.1miles away.
The nearest RADAR toilet is at the Heritage Centre on the Stone Quay which is 50m away.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
The Apartments are located on The Parade in Swanage which is a row of Victorian Houses sitting just back from the harbour wall.
There is a parking space for guests staying at Apartment 2 at the front door to The Pinnacles. It is the second space in from the square entrance. It measures 244cm by 366cm. The nearest long term car park is Broad Road Car Park which is 0.25miles away.
It is also possible to park on many of the roads in Swanage but adherence must be made to any parking restrictions in place.
Main Entrance & Reception
The main entrance to the building is the front door from The Parade.
There are 4 stone steps up to the front door each 119cm x 10cm.
There is also a slight ridge to the door of 2.5cm to step over.
The front door is 104cm x 208cm. The keyhole is 127cm high.
The timed push button light switch (which lasts about 2 minutes) for the hallway and landing lights is just inside the front door on the left. 145cm high.
There is an internal door 104cm x 208cm. The hinge is on the right.
The floor between the front door and the internal door is matted.
The floor in the remainder of the communal areas is a blue carpet.
Approaching the front door of Apartment 1 on the left hand side are the stairs to the upper floors.
Just before the start of the stairs on the left hand side is the switch for the outside light, 72cm high.
The first stair, 23cm wide x 17cm tall x 99cm long juts out slightly onto the hallway. There is 1 more step up to a small flat area. There is a handrail on the left 148cm high. There is also a timed push button light switch on the left above the flat area 135cm high.
The stairs continue up to the right. There are 10 stairs with a handrail on the right 110cm high. There is a small flat area.
The stairs dog leg up to the right. There are 4 final stairs with a handrail on the left 97cm high. The front door to Apartment 2 is at the top of the stairs.
There is a timed push button light switch on the left 137cm high.
The front door to the apartment is 79cm x 206cm. The hinge is on the right. The key hole is 130cm high.
Hallway
The front door to the Apartment opens onto a hallway.
The hall light switch is on the wall opposite 142cm high.
The carpet is blue short pile.
There is a night storage heater.
The back of the apartment is to the right.
In this direction, 305cm from the front door, there is a step 15cm deep.
On the right after the step is the electrical cupboard. This houses the shower switch, 80cm high and spare light bulbs.
The corridor leads around to the right. A larger mirrored cupboard is in front, the right hand side of which houses the
Vacuum Cleaner, ironing board and other such amenities.
Double Bedroom
The door to the double bedroom is at the end of the corridor 76cm x 190cm. The
hinge is on the left.
Just in front of the door on the left is the hallway light switch 137cm high. The light switch is on the right 137cm high.
The carpet is blue short pile.
There is a double bed 4’10’’ wide with a 4’6’’ mattress.
The bedding consists of a mattress topper, double duvet, and 4 pillows.
The space to the left of the bed is 122cm wide. The space to the right of the bed is 86cm wide.
There are 2 separate reading lights available by each side of the bed.
There is a vanity unit with integral sink, 76cm high.
Other furniture consists of a wardrobe, chest of drawers, and 1 bedside table.
Spare pillows and blankets can be found in the wardrobe.
The Z bed if required is normally set up in this bedroom on the left hand side of the bed.
There is a night storage heater.
Bathroom
The bathroom door is on the right leaving the double bedroom.
The door is a sliding door. The maximum dimensions when fully opened are 59cm x 186cm.
The light pull is on the left 127cm high.
There is a bath with flexible shower over. The bath height is 54cm.
The toilet seat height is 40cm. The distance to the left of the toilet is 15cm.
The distance to the right of the toilet is 84cm with the sink in between. The sink is 79cm high.
The bathroom floor is wood effect lino.
There is a heated towelling rail
Twin Bedroom
The front door to the Apartment opens into a hallway. The door to the twin bedroom is immediately opposite 89cm x 193cm. The hinge is on the left.
The light switch is on the right 140cm high. The carpet is blue short pile.
There are 2 single beds. The left hand bed is against the left wall. The right hand bed is against the right wall. The distance between the beds is 208cm.
There is a long vanity unit in between the beds providing 2 chests of drawers.
The bedding consists of a mattress topper, single duvet, and 2 pillows each.
There are 2 separate reading lights available by each side of the bed.
Other furniture consists of a wardrobe and chair. There is a night storage heater.
Spare pillows and blankets can be found in the wardrobe.
There is a cupboard where the washer/dryer and boiler are housed. The washer/dryer controls are 80cm high. The boiler switches are 145cm high.
Lounge, Dining Room and Kitchen
The door to this room is on the left from the front door. The door is 76cm x 196cm. The hinge is on the right.
The dimmer light switch is on the left hand side 132cm high.
On the left hand side is the ‘U’ shaped kitchen area comprising of work surfaces with cupboards above and below, a cooker, sink and fridge. The work surface is 89cm high and consists of blue tiles.
There is a breakfast bar area with 4 bar stools.
The hob height of the cooker is 92cm high. There are 4 rings. The oven doors can be accessed from the front and both sides.
The grill oven door is 86cm high. The main oven door shelf is 54cm high.
The fridge is under part of the work surface with the 2* ice box at 70cm high and the highest shelf being 48cm high.
There is a microwave on top of the work surface.
There is a fire blanket 165cm high attached to the left side of the cooker near the dimmer light switch.
The kitchen floor is wood effect lino.
The dining area is next to the kitchen area. The drop leaf dining table can be extended to 79cm x 150cm.
There are 4 padded dining chairs. An extra one can be brought from the twin bedroom if necessary.
The dining area floor is wood effect lino.
The lounge area consists of a 3 seater settee, 2 seater settee and 1 reclining armchair all in blue leather.
The floor in this area is blue short pile carpet.
There is a flat screen television with integral DVD player and Freeview.
There is a radio/cassette player. There is a cupboard where books and games are kept.
There is a night storage heater.
Balcony
Two patio doors, each 76cm x 180cm, lead out from the lounge area to a balcony. The balcony is 97cm x 609cm.
